    How to remove noise from a videowithout re-encoding

    1. Drop your video

      MP4 or MOV, from a phone, a camera or a screen recording. Only the audio track is uploaded.

    2. Pick a strength

      Natural turns the noise down around the voice. Studio rebuilds the voice for a studio sound.

    3. Download the video

      The clean audio goes back into your video, in your browser. Same frames, same length. The audio alone is there too, as M4A.

    What it handlesand where it struggles

    Works well on

    • Phone videos: vlogs, street interviews, talking while you walk
    • Talking head videos for YouTube, TikTok and Reels
    • Screen recordings made with a laptop mic
    • Long videos: up to 30 minutes with a free account, 2 hours when you pay for the file or with Pro

    Harder cases

    • Subtitle tracks inside the file are dropped when the audio is put back. Keep captions as a separate file.
    • Formats other than MP4 and MOV. Export the audio track from your editor and upload that instead.
    • Long videos on a phone. A computer browser handles them better.
    • Music and other sounds in the video go with the noise. Shhh keeps only the voice.

    Tips

    1. Every re-encode costs a little picture quality and a lot of time. Shhh copies the video stream as it is and replaces only the sound.

    2. Preview the first 30 seconds before you clean the whole video.

    3. Posting to several apps? Turn on Even out loudness (-16 LUFS) so the voice level is steady from clip to clip.

    Is the video re-encoded?

    No. The picture is copied into the new file packet by packet. Only the audio track is replaced.

    Is my whole video uploaded?

    No, only the audio track. The picture stays on your device, and the clean audio is put back into the video in your browser.

    Which video formats work?

    MP4 and MOV. For other formats, export the audio track from your editor and upload that.

    Does the sound stay in sync?

    Yes. The clean audio is exactly as long as the original, sample for sample, so it lines up with the picture.

    Will my voice sound robotic?

    That is what the strength slider is for. Up to 50%, Shhh does not rebuild your voice at all: it uses its own result as a guide and turns down everything in the original recording that is not your voice. Above 50%, it moves toward a rebuilt studio voice. If the result sounds processed, pull the slider back.

    Is it free?

    Yes, with a free account: whole files up to 30 minutes, 1 hour of audio every month, no card needed. Without an account you can try the first 30 seconds of a file up to 3 minutes long. You can pay once for a longer file, no account needed, and Pro covers 30 hours a month. The pricing page shows the prices in your currency.

    What happens to my file?

    Files are deleted after 7 days and are never used to train models. Your list of past files is kept in your own browser.
